Hoffsdatter Leather Who We Are
Welcome to our store and our next journey. We are David and Staci Tanksley and live on the beautiful Oregon Coast where we raised our kids, Travis and Alyssa. David is the craftsman behind the leather and Staci does the jewelry and charms. David has been a wood craftsman for 40+ years and has been working with leather for the past 3 years. His attention to detail is seen in every item he makes. Staci has been a massage therapist for 20+ years and has done jewelry as a hobby for the same amount of time.
The first thing people ask is about the name. Staci's great grandmother was Norwegian and when doing her genealogy was interested in the way surnames were used. Norwegian surnames were originally patronymic consisting of the father's name and one of the suffixes "son/sen (son) or datter/dotter (daughter). Staci took her maiden name, Hoffman, shortened it to Hoffs added datter and Hoffsdatter Leather was born. Our first 3 bags the Turid, Sigrid, and Jorun were all named after 3 of Staci's Norwegian ancestors.
Look around our store and remember all items are designed and made by either David or Staci, all leathers are handpicked and bought from a store in Bend, Oregon. Purses are either handstitched or with use of a sewing machine by David.
